The Call for Excellence and Evidence in Staffing
The Institute's beginnings link back to 2008 and a collaboration between The American Nurses Credentialing Center™ (ANCC), The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International™ (STTI) and Concerro, Inc., that resulted in the position document "Excellence and Evidence in staffing; Essential Links to Staffing Strategies, Design and Solutions for Healthcare".
Over 50 healthcare leaders from health service, policy and research contributed to the development of a definition of excellence, an evidence-based model for staffing, and 10 Best Practices with are represented in the document. Once the initial work was completed the group made recommendations for moving the work forward. It was felt that the best home for this work and it's continuation was within a not-for-profit.
The institute is grateful to Concerro™ for initiating this work and generously donating it us. The Institute has many initiatives to expand on the initial work and to position the Institute to become a world class resource to today's healthcare leaders.
